It’s the season of goodwill to all men – unless, of course, you’re ISIS- and a time to reflect on the past year and contemplate the year to come.

For me 2014 started off as a very scary prospect! Ostensibly unemployed after an acrimonious redundancy I was decidedly unexcited and understandably concerned about the twelve months ahead. Although the financial situation was an undoubted worry it was more the lack of purpose and focus that was my main concern.

The “light bulb” moment happened in February and what started as a germ of an idea has gestated into the very medium you are undoubtedly reading now.

To say I’m proud of nonbeige.com would be an understatement! The feedback we have received has been positive to a fault and any criticism has been constructive and exceedingly helpful.

We have come a long way in the last eight months or so but none of it could have been possible without the help, commitment and belief of some very special people.

First and foremost I have to give an enormous “thanks” to my son David. As Creative Director for nonbeige.com he has worked tirelessly to make the design of the site and the content of the articles look as immersive and attractive as they undeniably do. Moreover he is responsible for the whole “back-end” – the bit that makes sure it all runs silky smooth. Without him none of this would have been possible.

And then there is a whole bunch of people that have helped us get to where we are today: The lovely Koalie (Hitomi) for support, help and looking gorgeous. Barefoot Doctor and Angie Best for being there at the “off”. Lindsay Wesker who’s great taste and musical knowledge has kept the joint rockin’. David King who is arty but not “farty”. Phil Bough for sitting through the good , the bad and the ugly movies and DVDs. Paul and Vicky Lawson from whom there is still so much more to come and Susan Quilliam for being a cool psyche. Plus of course our interviewees, numerous press offices and PR people.

Last but undoubtedly not least are you the readers – thank you.

I know we are still a small community but we will grow. There are already some amazing exclusives lined up for next year together with regular articles from new contributors covering a range of subjects that as always should enthral, amuse and entertain you.

We have big plans for 2015 and hopefully we will deliver them all but if you have ideas, comments or wish to get involved don’t be shy…let us know. We want to hear from you.

So finally all that remains for 2014 is to wish you all a wonderful Holiday season and a happy, healthy and prosperous New Year. And even if it’s not a white Xmas make sure it’s nonbeige.
